Mingu who was born and raised in Korea, and is now studying in NYU Abu Dhabi (NYUAD), an American institution in the Middle East. He has grown a distinct cultural experience that is multi-ethnic yet strongly based in the Asian culture. HIs engagement with the journalists, artists, and filmmakers in Abu Dhabi/Dubai enabled him to realize the great extent to which the MENASA region is enthusiastic about multicultural music and arts delivered by news media and online platforms, and also the potential in which journalism can and should address the audience in West Asia.
Apart from his working experience, Mingu has taken initiative to promote the culture of hip-hop and represent Korean hip-hop at school and in Abu Dhabi by creating a multinational music jamming crew at NYUAD.
