Faisal Magray completed his Masters in Mass Communication and Journalism with a specialization in photojournalism at the University of Kashmir in Srinagar, India. His work has been published in the Hindustan Times, Getty Images, Conveyor Magazine, Gulf News, and other media outlets. In september 2011, he received a Ramadan Photo Competition award from the British High Commision of India.
