Enjoy the musical brilliance of the New York Philharmonic and a beautiful sunset vista this Wednesday, June 17th. And what´s a better concert stage than Central Park´s Great Lawn? Admission is free – just bring your picnic basket, wine and friends!

When: June 17th at 8:00pm.

Where: Great Lawn, Central Park (Westside entrances at West 81st or 86th Streets at Central Park West and Eastside entrances at East 79th or 85th Streets at Fifth Avenue).

The Swedish Midsummer Festival returns once again to Battery Park this Friday June 19th. Take part in this unique celebration, which will include picnicking in the grass, decorating the midsummer pole, making flower wreaths, playing traditional games and dancing to authentic Swedish fiddle music. You can also dig into plates from some of New York´s finest Swedish restaurants. This event is part of the #SwedenInThePark concept, a series of outdoor events showcasing Swedish culture.

When: June 19th from 5:00pm – 8:00pm.

Where: Robert F. Wagner Junior Park (55 Battery Place).

The 2015 Mermaid Parade

The largest art parade in the nation, the Mermaid Parade celebrates the ancient seaside mythology and rituals. This June 20th, over 1,500 individuals from all five New York City boroughs will showcase their creative artwork, entrepreneurial spirit and community pride as they parade through Coney Island. Get your mermaid fins and experience life “Under the sea.” (You can egister to participate in the parade here).

When: June 20th at 1:00pm.

Where: Coney Island (1208 Surf Avenue, Brooklyn).

Thursday June 25th marks the first day of a three-day series of outdoor yoga sessions taught by Jeffrey Posner (other dates are July 28th and September 22nd). This is Bryant Park´s 12th season sponsoring its three-day summer yoga sessions. Join in for a great workout and relaxation. The one-hour classes are free of charge and yoga mats will additionally be provided.
