MADRID, SPAIN. This small, cute bakery has great sandwiches, cakes, muffins, and cookies. Their specialty is bread, and there are many artisanal varieties to choose between. There is bread for every preference, from multigrain to with olives and tomato and gluten free. I especially love this place because everything feels enjoyably handmade.
The space is small, so I recommend either taking out or coming with only one or two people. There are three small, cute tables available if you wish to stay. Newspapers are readily available at the tables and classical music plays.
As you walk in, you get the feel of a French patisserie. Large windows illuminate the space. Its small size creates a comfortable atmosphere. You order from the counter, which displays their elaborate pastries and lunch items.
It is a great place for breakfast. Two large, toasted pieces of bread with tomato and olive oil, along with a coffee, is only two euros. Bread is also well priced, with multigrain bread 2,30 euros.
It is very close to Antón Martín, and in a neighborhood surrounded by embassies. It is easy to walk around Justicia and Chueca after lunch and see many great hole-in-the-wall boutique shops.
