The Saturday of the last weekend of June is usually known as the Dia del Orgullo, or Gay Pride Day. During this time, Chueca is a centre of attraction in Madrid and a memorable experience for gay and straight people alike. Street parties, music, food and drink street stalls and kiosks are set up amongst the decorations and brightly coloured streamers around the Plaza de Chueca.
