MADRID, SPAIN. After a month in Madrid, I was craving some Chipotle and was lucky to find a restaurant that could remind me of and help me enjoy a much overdue Mexican meal: Tierra Burritos.
At Tierra Burritos, you can pick between a burrito, tacos, nachos, salad, or a burrito bowl and then you go down the line to where you customize your food. They have white rice and black beans and for meat you can chose between chicken (€5.95), steak (€6.65), pork (€5.95), barbecue (€6.05), or if you are a vegetarian or don’t want mean you can get the vegetarian (€5.95) with guacamole included in the price. The toppings that you can add at no additional price are pico de gallo, sour cream, lettuce, corn, cheese, and different salsas that you can chose from depending on how hot you want it. Guacamole may be added to the mean orders for an additional €1.85 and extra meat as well for another €1.85. If you want chips & salsa that will cost you €2.75 and for chips & guacamole €3.50.
You can buy bottled drinks for different prices or for €2.50 you can get refills from their soda machine that serves Pepsi products. Since it is a popular restaurant for american students, they do have Budweiser beer that costs $3.10, and if you don’t care about it you can chose from over ten different types of beers that cost between €3 up to €4.80. They also have margaritas but they come in 1L sizes and are between €12.95 to €22.95. Their happy hour is from 4pm to 8 pm and then again from 11 pm until they close. They also have different packages that you can order or foods that you can combine such as three beers and chips & salsa for €9.95 or four beers and nachos for €17.45 or other similar choices.
Tierra Burritos is very popular among the American students, and if you plan on going in the evenings especially plan on hearing English around you. The staff is very friendly and speak both Spanish and English. Whether you are an American missing Mexican food, or a visitor looking for a great experience, I highly recommend Tierra Burrito.
