NASSAU, BAHAMAS. I had the opportunity to visit Nassau, Bahamas a few years ago via a cruise. If you ever get the chance to visit Nassau, here are some things you can do.
Nassau. Nassau is a beautiful island so you are surrounded by clear blue water. Of course you can do the usual beach activities such as tanning or swimming, Beach volleyball and socializing and meeting other people. But there are more fun things to do such as Kayaking and Snorkeling.
At Rose Island, which is the #1 attraction in Nassau, you can have a full day excursion with a beautiful boat ride, complimentary drinks, Snorkeling, beach games and activities all fro $79. The tours her are available Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday and are from 10AM-3:45PM. Check here for contact information, terms and conditions, as well as what to bring.
If you are travelling all the way The Bahamas, why not learn a little about the culture? At the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas for only 5$ ($3 for students) you can see wonderful art while learning about Bahamian culture and history. This place received great reviews online so I would encourage everyone to visit. Visit here to see the official website and to get information on how to get here.
There are around 174 restaurants on this island but one popular one is Oh Andros Restaurant. There are plenty of locals which means this is authenic food, there are also a lot of tourists as well. This is a great place to eat and socialize. The food is affordable and received great reviews (it’s the #2 Restaurant here). Check the Facebook page to see hours of operation and the location.
As far as shopping goes, one really popular area that has great items is Bay Street Station in downtown. Here you can find art, clothing, Desserts, Jewelry, etc. The people that work here are very friendly so that will make the shopping experience more enjoyable.
Doongalik Studios is also a cool art gallery in Nassau where they have a craft shop next door with art for sale. You may see one of the artist here while you are there. If you do happen to see something you like, you can have it shipped back to your hometown. Their Facebook page stays current with events and also has information about their hours of operation.
