THE HAGUE, HOLLAND. On June 28, 2014, The Hague became the epicenter of Veteran’s Day celebrations. Supported mainly by the Veteranen Instituut, the celebrations took place at the Dutch Parliament.

The color orange embellished the entire city, with the Netherlands paying homage to veterans who have served in wars and various international peacekeeping operations. The date also coincides with the birthday of late Prince Bernhard , father of Queen Beatrix and a war veteran himself.
