As the capital city of Spain, Madrid is a beautiful and lively city that has a range of different activities and places to see. MADbudget offers some insider’s guides to the lifestyle of Madrid and essential information for anyone planning a visit to the city.
MADRID, SPAIN. Located in the centre of Spain, Madrid benefits from a Mediterranean climate with cold winters due to its reasonable altitude and hot summers. In the months of May and June the temperature may vary between 15 degrees Celsius to 30 degrees Celsius (59 to 89 Fahrenheit), ranging from rain and strong winds to early heat-wave like climates. During late July and August, however, temperatures will rise up to 40 degrees (108 Fahrenheit) and will rarely drop below 30 in the daytime. Although often softened by warm winds, the heat can be quite stifling during this summer period and it is important to stay hydrated as much as possible. Carrying a high-factor sun-cream is also important to protect yourself from the strong UV rays and to prevent burning. But don’t worry, you will soon become acclimatized to the heat and if not, there are plenty of shaded spots in which to relax during your free time.
