ACLE is a non-profit educational association that provides young Italian students with fun, enriching, hands-on opportunities to learn the English.

Each summer ACLE sends close to 400 native English-speaking tutors to over 200 camps in Italy, from the Dolomites to Sicily. Trainee tutors for our camps need to be native English speakers and love working with children; Italian language skills are not necessary! Our accredited Introduction to TEFL-TP course offers a unique opportunity to enhance your CV and is supported by astudy grant.

It also makes for a great summer abroad during which you will meet people from around the world, enjoy all that Italy has to offer, live with Italian host families, and make amazing memories for you and the children you meet.

ACLE camps aim to:

  • Provide an environment for young, native English speakers from around the world to meet and share multicultural experiences with Italian students.
  • Give Italian students an exciting alternative to a study abroad programme.
  • Model an alternative style of language teaching that uses songs, games and activities to create a stimulating and positive learning environment.
Summer Camps are residential and usually held in a hotel where the children come and stay for a week at a time. Trainee tutors also stay at the hotel and tutor all week with the children, providing activities such as lessons, drama, games, sports and evening activities.

Applications for 2016 will be open in November.
