In recent years, many websites or applications have changed our way of travel. In fact, thanks to BlaBlaCar, Uber and Airbnb, we can save a lot of money. This new market model of the sharing economy refers to a peer-to-peer-based sharing of access to goods and service. For those which are mistrustful, let me say: of course, you must be careful, but it’s an opportunity that you cannot miss!
Do you want to visit Madrid? With Airbnb you can stay in the city centre for less.
How does it work? It’s so simple!
- Create an account
- Find a host (extra room or entire apartment)
- Connect with him or her and book a stay
In addition to the Airbnb website, the company offers mobile applications for iOS and Android customers.
I’ve compiled a list with the coolest apartments available in the city. I put them in order by price: from the cheapest to the most expensive one. There are all affordable, comfortable and well equipped, at any rate.
Apartment #1: so cheap, so cool!
Apartment approved with great reviews! In general, it’s true that you get what you pay. Nevertheless, it’s not the case with this apartment. In fact, for a low price you get an accommodation that’s probably worth much more. Situated in the Barrio de Las Letras, one of the most charming districts of the city, it’s surrounded of various bars and restaurants. Ideal if you want to enjoy your stay in Madrid.
Price: 34 €
Location: Barrio de Las Letras
Apartment #2: what a stylish apartment!
This cool apartment can host 4 people. It has been recently renewed. The stickers on the walls are so funny and go the extra mile for this accommodation. Kitchen, washing machine and Wi-Fi included! It’s affordable and, in the guests’ words, the host is very kind.
Price: 34 €
Location: Chueca
Apartment #3: a stone’s throw from the best museums of the city
In this apartment there is one bedroom with double bed. There is also a lovely balcony where you can chill out after spending a day walking around the city. The Prado, the Reina Sofia and the Retiro Park are very close to the apartment.
Price: 34 €
Location: Lavapiés
Apartment #4: a loft in the city centre
This loft is well connected: near the metro station Lavapiés (Line 3) and Antón Martín (Line 1). I find the yellow wall with the black and white photo of the Gran Vía so cool! And what about the price? It’s so cheap, less than 18 Euros per person per night.
Price: 35 €
Location: Lavapiés
Apartment #5: cozy studio in the Gran Vía
This studio is perfectly located. In fact, it’s situated in the most famous and spectacular street of Madrid, the Gran Vía! The Puerta del Sol is 10 minutes by walking. There is Wi-Fi and many other facilities, such as the hair dryer (thank goodness, it takes up a lot of place in the suitcase!) and an enormous television. It’s little, but so cozy! Feedbacks are extremely positive.
Price: 40 €
Location: Gran Vía
Apartment #6: a sweet and romantic studio
Check out the photos, this studio is truly as sweet as the advertisements say. It’s perfect for a couple! It’s provided with Wi-Fi, equipped kitchen and air conditioned. The host grants you a discount if you stay seven nights or more. You’ll be in the heart of the historical centre of Madrid in a pedestrian area next to the Plaza Mayor, close to the metro stations Opera and Sol.

Apartment #7: have a bohemian night!
This studio stands in the neighbourhood of of Lavapiés. The nightlife of this district is considered bohemian. There are several bars and cafes. During the summer there are many terraces where you can drink a beer and have tapas while enjoying the sun. The place is nice and well equipped.
Price: 45€
Location: Lavapiés
Apartment #8: little red lovely apartment
With its red walls, this pretty apartment reminds me of the location of a film by the Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar. It has everything you need and it’s located in the centre of the city. It’s perfect for a couple, but if you want to save some money it could host up to 4 people.
Price: 46 €
Location: Cortes
Apartment #9: an attic with view
What a breathtaking view of the city you can have from this attic! It’s not so cheap, but worthwhile. It’s close to Atocha Station. The drawback is that it’s located on the sixth floor and there is no elevator. Yet, for a view like this, you can make an effort!
Price: 48 euros
Location: Atocha
Apartment #10: expensive, but amazing
Very pleasant flat, small but comfy. Jose Luis was very helping (especially for someone who doesn’t know Madrid).
This is the review of a guest who stayed in the apartment last month.
It’s so cool! Moreover, it’s situated in the heart of the city. If you stay there, you can go everywhere on foot. The week point is that there is no kitchen. However, there is a microwave, a coffee maker and a toaster. Eating in Madrid is quite cheap, you can enjoy the typical tapas and forget about cooking!
Price: 50€
Location: Plaza Santa Ana
