MADRID, SPAIN. I found the perfect burrito in Madrid, and I am happy because I have been searching for it. The burritos are great, and depending how you like it, you can get spicy salsa and a heaping portion of guacamole. I heard that the place was started by an American study abroad student who thought that Madrid needed better burritos.

The restaurant is Chipotle style, with a bar where you dictate what you would like in your burrito. They also have tacos and burrito bowls. Spicy salsa is spicy (the first spicy food I’ve tasted in Madrid). They have a large selection of imported beers (from around the world), and most start at 3,00 euros. During happy hour (everyday 8 pm to 11 pm), chips and guacamole are 2,00 euros, a jar of margaritas is 9,95 euros, and four Budweisers with chips and salsa is 9,95 euros.

The burritos are a little expensive (5,95 euros for pollo or carnitas and 6,65 euros for steak or barbacoa, and 1,85 euros extra for guacamole), but they are big. You won’t be hungry after eating one of these. Extra salsas are also available for free.

The inside is very cool, with a communal table, different colored wooden tables and chairs, and hanging single bulbs. There is a white, industrial tone, but it is a very comfortable space. Eclectic American music plays (from classic rock to funk to some pop). It is a very nice space to sit and enjoy the atmosphere.

Wi-fi is free. It is very close to the Alonso Martínez metro. There is a very nice plaza right next to the Metro stop that has a tiny book store and restaurants around it. There is another location at Calle de Guzmán ‘El Bueno’, 52, 28015 Madrid, in the Chamberí neighborhood.
