What´s better than enjoying a cool beer and a hot dog at Yankee Stadium? Even if you aren´t the biggest Yankees follower, the thrill and energy of the crowd will convert you into a fan (Also seeing A-Rod´s red-hot swing … and bod).
The best ways to get Yankees tickets this summer is online or at the stadium. As a student, you can get half-priced tickets for every Wednesday home game during the 2015 season. The day of the game, (see Schedule here) head on over to the Yankee Stadium ticket windows (adjacent to Gate 4) and present your college I.D. in order to receive the student discount. The upside to this option (rather than buying online) is that it is more official and secure. Here you are guaranteed a ticket whereas online occasionally there are gimmicks. The downside is that you cannot choose where your seats are. There are designated student seat zones (AKA in the nosebleed section!).
To try the other route, there are many online options to find Yankees disount tickets. Normally tickets are sold via Ticketmaster, but you can find second-hand tickets on Stubhub or Ticketzoom. There are also discount options available at Bargainseatsonline (10%-60% discount!) and Scorebig (The Priceline for tickets). These second-hand options can be tricky as it is more difficult to find a good deal. However, sites such as Scorebig allow you to bid on discount seats which generally gives you a better chance to score great discount tickets. While you might be able to find better seats than going through the offical Yankees ticket vendors, it is always risky buying tickets online. Just be careful and use common sense… a ticket for $10, for example, is most definitely a scam.
At the end of the day, even if you have to sit in the nosebleed section or endure a rough bidding war online, once you´re there relax, grab some Cracker Jack´s and a Coke and enjoy the game!
