André and Dorine | Mostra Internatcional of MIM to Sweden

This outstanding work is a reflection on the Alzheimer’s disease: it is a story between drama and comedy about a senior couple who uses their memories in order to not forget their feelings.

Over the last three years, Andre and Dorine has been performed in more than 20 countries, and it has won many awards such as the Audience Award and the Best Drama Award in the Be of Birmingham Festival, and the Best Foreign Villanueva Performance Award in the International Theater Festival of La Habana 2011.

You can watch this performance until April 12th, at the Fernán Gómez Theater (Centro Cultural de la Villa); Plaza de Colon, nº 4.

Exhibition “The Triumph of the Image” | Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando

The works presented in this exhibition, created between the middle ages and the end of the 18th century, reflect the importance the image had in evangelization throughout history. A total of 60 paintings, sculptures, silverware, and textiles are presented, approximately half of them exposed for the first time in our country.

The exhibition shows the labor results of conservation and restoration of cultural ecclesiastical goods of the Madrid Community and Church.

The entrance is free.

You can visit from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 17:00 to 20:00 h. on Tuesdays to Saturdays, and 10:00 to 14:00 h. on Sundays and holidays. (Closed on Mondays).

The location is at the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando (C/ Alcalá, 13).

Mollerussa Paper Dresses| Museum Vestits de Paper Mollerussa

The Paper Dresses National Contest, held in Mollerussa (Lleida) from 1963, has three categories: current fashion, fantasy, and time. It is a very laborious job resulting in unique pieces that are part of the cultural heritage. This collection of dresses include a Goya inspired piece by Lorenzo Caprile and one of Lady Gaga’s very own dresses.

The exhibition is free and is held until April 30th, on Mondays to Fridays from 10:30 to 21:00 h., and Saturdays from 10:30 to 14:30.

The location is at the Cultural Center Blanquerna (C/Alcalá, 44).

The 5 screens in this video installation reflect grand images of the earth, sky, fire, and the sea to the rhythm of respiration. It seeks to convey the connection between people and the world that surrounds them, as well as their ability to transform it. The show is presented by the Cuban, Glenda León, recognized as one of the most important creators of his generation.

You can visit this presentation until April 26th at the Matadero Madrid, in warehouse 16 (Plaza de Legazpi, 8).

The hours are from Tuesdays to Fridays from 16:00 to 21:00 h, and Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from 11:00 to 21:00h. (Closed Mondays)
