As college students, many of us do not want to spend a lot of money and time on making meals. Whether you’re at your home university or studying abroad, the last thing we want to do after a long day of school is spend time grocery shopping or preparing food. Luckily, these five recipes require minimal effort and time. Plus, many of these ingredients are probably things you already have in your fridge. Eating does not have to be expensive or time consuming. In this article, I will show you five recipes that are delicious, as well as money- and time-friendly!

1. Pasta/Pesto spaghetti

Ingredients:
-2 ounces spaghetti
-one cup of preferred pasta sauce OR 2 tbsp pesto sauce
-1 Italian sausage
-olive oil
-grated mozzarella cheese
-ground black pepper

1. Cook spaghetti and rinse with cold water

2. In a pan, heat up pasta or pesto sauce on low-medium heat

3. In a skillet, lightly add olive oil on medium heat, then add sliced Italian sausage

4. Add sausage and spaghetti to sauce

5. Add cheese and ground pepper as desired

2. (Healthy) Huevos rotos

Ingredients:
-2 eggs
-2 medium size potatoes

Optional:
-hot sauce
-grated mozzarella cheese
-1 tsp salt

1. Peel and cut potatoes into cubes, then boil for 10 minutes

2. In a pan on medium heat, add olive oil and cook eggs as preferred (best way is over easy or sunnyside up)

3. Drain potatoes and season with salt if needed

4. Put potatoes on plate with eggs on top

5. Add hot sauce and cheese if desired

3. Asian fried rice

Ingredients:
-1 cup cooked rice
-1 tbsp chopped green onion
-¼ cup carrots
-¼ cup peas
-1 cup of cooked, diced chicken breasts
-1 scrambled egg
-chili garlic paste
-soy sauce

1. Boil carrots and peas then drain

2. In a pan, scramble one egg

3. Add cooked rice, carrots, peas, green onions and chicken to pan

4. Add desired chili garlic paste and soy sauce to taste

4. Ramen

Ingredients:
-packet of preferred ramen
-chopped green onion
-boiled egg

Optional:
-leftover beef, chicken, or pork

1. Cook ramen as instructed on packet

2. Add boiled egg (cut in half) and green onions

3. Add meat if desired

5. Grilled ham and cheese

Ingredients:
-2 slices of bread
-2 slices of ham
-2 slices of swiss cheese
-1 tsp mayonnaise
-1 tsp butter

1. Heat up pan on medium and butter one side of each slice of bread

2. Place buttered side of both slices on the pan

3. Add slice of cheese on each slice until slightly melted

4. Take slices off pan and add ham

5. Add mayonnaise on ham and combine slices
