Where to shop: The Gay Dolphin in Myrtle Beach is one store you definitely have to check out. It is located at 910 North Ocean Blvd on the Boardwalk and is self proclaimed as the “nation’s largest gift shop.” With more than 20,000 square feet and 7 levels, you’re sure to find something you like. This gift store has everything: jewelry, hats, paintings, bumper stickers, signs, beer mugs, standard souvenirs and much more! The best part is that everything is reasonably priced. About 15 minutes away from the Boardwalk you can find more great shopping at Broadway at the Beach. Whether you want accessories, apparel, gifts, jewelry or shoes, you can find it here! There is a store called IT’Sugar that is full of candy; they have giant candy bars, pillows, retro items, hats, bags, the most popular candy brands and so many cool items that you won’t find anywhere else! Another cool store is Yours and Mayan, which is a store that helps the Mayan Indians of Guatemala. They sell affordable, handmade items to help those in Guatemala. You can find handmade bracelets, rings, wood carvings, and masks. There are also t-shirts, key chains, backpacks and much more for sale. Attractions in Myrtle Beach: Near the Gay Dolphin is the Myrtle Beach Skywheel. It’s a Ferris wheel that opened in 2011, when it was declared the second tallest Ferris wheel still in existence in North America . The ride is approximately 12 minutes long, and the view of the ocean is amazing! You can take a ride from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and on Friday and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
In addition to these great places on the Myrtle Beach’s Boardwalk, there are plenty of other gift shops selling clothing, souvenirs, and surfing equipment. Other top sights include the Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum, arcades, golfing and more.
There are about 20 additional attractions at Broadway at the Beach: everything from the Palace Theatre where you can see a Broadway show, to Carmike Cinema where you can see the latest films, to fantasy golf, helicopter adventures, a comedy club, Ripley’s Aquarium, a water park and more. Dining: There are over 25 restaurants on the Boardwalk. There are quite a few grills, bars, and pubs. A great place to try is Nacho Mama’s Grill, located at 300 9th Ave N. You can visit their blog here to see photos of their food and drinks, which all look delicious. They serve American and Mexican -American foods such as nachos, tacos, steaks, burgers and fajitas. There are plenty more eating options at Broadway at the Beach. If you feel like having a nice dinner you can visit restaurants like Landry’s Seafood or Yamato Steak House Japan. For something more casual, you can visit Wet Willie’s, a daiquiri bar with more than 20 daiquiri machines and good food, Good Time Charley’s Restaurant and Bar, or Key West Grill. Nightlife at Broadway at the Beach: Once the sun goes down, Myrtle Beach has plenty of happening places. Besides restaurants and bars, you can visit Club Boca: Celebrations on 1320 Celebrity Circle. This club is apparently like Vegas and South Beach in one! The entrance fee, which gives you access to four clubs, can be found here. The dress code is proper attire: no baggy or oversized clothing or head gear. Parking: Parking is easy at the Boardwalk. There are parking meters, and there is also a parking deck about a block away, between 9th and 10th ave.
