MADRID, SPAIN. Bazaar is uniquely designed and has a very upscale vibe (for a really good price). The food is good and the environment is intriguing. It is a good place to go with a group and enjoy a nice meal that is more American than Spanish.

The upstairs is very bright because of the large windows that cover two walls of the room. The stairs to the bottom floor are lined with objects for sale, making the restaurant look like a very upscale market. The downstairs room has bookcases with further objects for sale.

The menu of the day cost 10,35 euros, and I thought it was really well priced. I ordered barbequed vegetables and fruits, which came with a homemade mayonnaise. I also ordered ribs, which came in a large portion with really delicious barbeque sauce. For desert I had strawberry ice cream, which was tasty.

The staff was ok. The waiter wouldn’t really answer my questions about the menu and didn’t smile or really acknowledge our presence. I have also heard from others that they can be rude and pushy. The restaurant was busy when I went, but it’s large size, and two floors, allowed us to be seated immediately. I have still heard that reservations are needed at night because they are busier.

It is located in the great neighborhood of Chueca. Get lost in the small, winding streets of this neighborhood. It’s also extremely accessible, being a short distance from Gran Vía.

I will definitely return because the food was good and the dining experience was really nice. The food could have been a little more creative, but it was comfortable and thus safe.
