GLOBAL. World Music Day, or Fête de la Musique, as its French founders called it, is a festival during which both amateurs and professionals celebrate music through free concerts in the streets. Since its induction in Paris in 1982, the celebration has spread all over the world with nearly 110 countries celebrating music and culture on June 21 of each year.
